Terms of use
These terms apply to the Roadlie app and the Roadlie cloud backup service at roadlie.com. By using them you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Roadlie.
1. Recording is your responsibility
Laws about dash cams differ by country and region: some limit where a camera may be mounted on the windshield, some restrict recording audio or people inside the car without their consent, and some limit publishing footage of other people or number plates. You are responsible for knowing and following the rules where you drive, for telling passengers when the cabin camera or audio is on, and for how you use and share your footage.
Mount the phone so it doesn't block your view or an airbag, and don't operate the phone while driving.
2. No guarantee of capture
Roadlie runs on a general-purpose phone that wasn't built to be a dash cam. Recording can stop or fail — for example because the phone overheats, runs out of storage or power, is restarted, or because Android or another app closes it — and crash detection may miss events or trigger when nothing happened. Roadlie is a helpful tool, not a safety or evidence device, and we can't promise that any particular moment will be recorded, kept or uploaded.
3. Cloud backup
- Cloud backup is optional. Each phone gets up to 2 GB; incidents are deleted 30 days after upload unless marked Keep, and up to 1 GB of clips per phone can be kept. When the service as a whole is at capacity, uploads may be delayed. We may change these limits with notice in the app.
- Your private viewer link and share links work like keys. Keep them safe; anyone who has one can see what it points to.
- Don't use the service to store or share anything illegal, or to harass or harm anyone. We may remove content or disable access that breaks these terms or the law.
- Keep your own copy of anything important. Download clips you need to keep long-term.
4. The service is provided as is
To the extent the law allows, Roadlie and the cloud service are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, for lost or unrecorded footage, or for anything arising from how you use the app or your recordings. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.
5. Changes and ending
We may update the app, the service and these terms. If a change is significant we'll tell you in the app. You can stop using Roadlie at any time and delete your data as described in the privacy policy. We may discontinue the cloud service with at least 30 days' notice in the app, so you can download your clips.
